PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester composition excellent in particle dispersibility, wear resistance, scratch resistance, tone, transparency such as haze, and electric characteristics such as a withstand voltage, as well as excellent from the viewpoint of cost, and to provide a polyester film using the composition. SOLUTION: The polyester composition contains calcite type synthetic calcium carbonate particles by 0.005 to 5.0 wt.%, the particles having an average particle diameter of 0.2 to 2.0μm and containing an iron component by 10 to 300 ppm in terms of iron elements, and subjected to a surface treatment with 0.1 to 2 wt.% of a polyvalent carboxylic acid compound, and contains a phosphorus compound having a specified chemical structure by 10 to 100 ppm in terms of phosphorus elements.
