<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine the abnormality of an intake air temperature sensor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An abnormality diagnosis device temporarily determines the abnormality of intake air temperature sensors 11, 12 if temperature difference ΔT between intake air temperature tha detected with the intake air temperature sensor 11 and after-compressor intake air temperature thia detected with the after-compressor intake air temperature sensor 12 is greater than a predetermined reference value K, when prerequisite for performing the abnormal diagnosis of the intake air temperature sensors 11, 12 is satisfied at a start of the internal combustion engine 1, namely when a whole of the engine is sufficiently cooled and the drop width of cooling water temperature until then is not less than a set value. After a temporary determination of normal determination or abnormal determination with the intake air temperature sensors 11, 12, the temporary determination is voided when the intake air temperature tha and the after-compressor intake air temperature thia change during a predetermined period from the start of the engine, and the temporary determination becomes formal determination when the change does not occur.
