<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the thermal deformation of a rotor core to the utmost by enabling copper die-cast molding. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this cage-type rotor 4, a plurality of external peripheral slots 11 are formed in the external periphery of the rotor core 3 with prescribed intervals in the circumferential direction, and a plurality of internal peripheral slots 12 are formed on the internal peripheral side of the external peripheral slots 11 with prescribed intervals in the circumferential direction. A copper bar 13 is formed by the copper die-cast molding in each internal peripheral slot 12 in the state where the internal periphery of each external peripheral slot 11 and the external periphery of the rotor core 3 are reinforced. Next, an aluminum bar 14 is formed in each external peripheral slot 11 by aluminum die-cast molding, and short-circuit rings 9, 9 which electrically connect the copper bar 13 and the aluminum bar 14 are formed at axial both ends 3a of the rotor core 3.
