<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a repeater for efficiently utilizing a network band when transmitting and receiving stream data. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The repeater includes: a communication state storage part 121 for storing a communication state indicating whether or not communication used for transmitting and receiving the stream data between a stream transmitter 2 and a stream receiver 3 is established; a disconnection detection part 103 for detecting whether or not the stream receiver 3 is disconnected from a network 6; an abnormal end determination part 104 for determining whether or not it is detected that the stream receiver 3 is disconnected from the network 6 and it is indicated that the communication is established; and an end request transmission part 105 for transmitting a communication end request message to the stream transmitter 2 when it is detected that the stream receiver 3 is disconnected from the network 6 and it is determined that the establishment of the communication is indicated.
