<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intercom device that assists an answerer, with higher reliability, in determining whether to answer to a visitor who is not specified in advance based upon information that the visitor is made to input while answering to a visitor who is specified in advance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Visit reservation information is acquired from a visitor and authentication information associated with the visit reservation information is registered in a reservation information database. Then, when a visit by a visitor is detected, the visitor is requested to input authentication information. When the authentication information inputted by the visitor and the authentication information registered in the reservation information database match each other, speech communication with the visitor is controlled. In addition, when the both do not match each other, the visitor is requested to input item information asking the purpose of the visit. A suspicious information log associated with the item information inputted by the visitor is acquired from a suspicious information database to be displayed to the answerer.
