<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction mechanism and a geared motor having this friction mechanism, without causing unnatural abutment such as a projected corner part of an annular step part that bites in a first rotary member, when adopting a constitution for engaging a projection formed in the resin first rotary member and the annular step part formed in a metallic second rotary member. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This friction mechanism 9 pushingly expands an elastic deformation part 915 of the resin first rotary member 91 to the outside by an inside ring-shaped energizing member 93, to be allowed to abut on an inner peripheral side surface 921a of a fitting hole 921 of the metallic second rotary member 92. In the first rotary member 91, a projection 915 is formed in an end part of the elastic deformation part 915, and an annular step part 921b engaging with a projection 915b is formed in an end part of the fitting hole 921. The projected corner part of crossing an inner peripheral side surface 921a of the fitting hole 921 and the annular step part 921b is also formed as a chamfering surface 921f.
