PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a fracture start section of a ductile metallic component consisting of a forged material at low cost. SOLUTION: In the method for forming the fracture start section of the ductile metallic component consisting of the forged material comprising a first step of forming a groove part 11 in a part corresponding to the fracture start section of the ductile metallic component consisting of the forged material, and a second step of executing the hardening of at least a bottom portion of the groove part 11, the fracture start section of the ductile metallic component consisting of the forged material is formed at low cost without using any expensive laser beam apparatus or an exclusive broaching machine.
