Headphones which can be received in a relatively small space when carried by a user and which is prevented from accidentally breaking. The headphones (1) have a C-shaped head band (2), band plate-like arms (3), sound emission sections (4) supported by the arms (3), first connection sections (7), and first maintaining mechanisms (48). The first connection sections (7) each connect an arm (3) to the center of that side of the sound emission section (4) which is located on the opposite side of the sound radiation side of a sound emission section (4). When in position, each arm (3) is rotatable about a first axis (P1) extending in the lateral direction of the arm (3). The first maintaining mechanisms (48) each maintain relative positions, about the first axis (P1), of the sound emission section (4) and the arm (3).
