<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce total reflection from the upper face of a translucent member by providing uneven portions on the upper face of the translucent member, while solving the problem that light extracted from a light emitting device is reduced because part of incident light is reflected and moved to the side of a substrate, even when light entering onto the upper face of the translucent member is not totally reflected. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device includes the base substrate having a main face, a light emitting element arranged on the main face of the base substrate, and the translucent member located on the base substrate and the light emitting element and having a plurality of recessed portions on the upper face. On the cross section of the translucent member perpendicular to the main face of the base substrate, the recessed portions are shaped to be inclined so that their bottoms are located on the side of the light emitting element beyond opening portions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
