<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulose acylate film of thin film thickness, exhibiting an in-plane retardation and a thickness-directional Rth sufficiently high in a degree of contributing to optical compensation of a liquid crystal display device, and to provide a polarizing plate and the liquid crystal display device having the same film. <P>SOLUTION: This cellulose acylate film contains at least a cellulose acetate wherein the film thickness is 10 μm or more to 40 μm or less, the in-plane retardation Re(590) satisfies 40 nm≤Re(590)≤70 nm in 590 nm of wavelength, a thickness-directional retardation Rth(590) satisfies 90 nm≤Rth(590)≤150 nm in 590 nm of wavelength, total acyl group substitution degree is ≥2 and ≤2.35, and wherein a substitution degree of a propionyl group and/or butyryl group is ≥0.6 and ≤1.1.
