<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of a battery by supplying power to a load from the battery when a circuit breaker trips off and stopping power supply from the battery to the load when the circuit breaker is turned off by manual operation. <P>SOLUTION: An uninterruptible power supply is provided with: an input voltage detection unit 5 that is connected to an alternating current power supply 1 through a circuit breaker 2 and detects input voltage; power conversion units 7, 9, 11 that charge a battery 10 as appropriate and, when the input voltage drops to a predetermined value or below, use the energy of the battery 10 to output voltage; and a circuit breaker status detection unit 15 that detects whether the circuit breaker 2 is on, off, or in trip state. When the input voltage drops to the predetermined value or below, the status of the circuit breaker 2 is detected with the circuit breaker status detection unit 15. When the circuit breaker 2 trips off, the energy of the battery is used to supply power to a load 3.
