<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a lithium nickel-containing composite oxide with which a carbonate radical content of a positive electrode mixture of ≤0.11 mass% can be achieved. <P>SOLUTION: The lithium nickel-containing composite oxide represented by the general formula: Li<SB>a</SB>Ni<SB>b</SB>Co<SB>c</SB>Al<SB>d</SB>O<SB>2</SB>(wherein 0.90≤a≤1.20, 0.70≤b≤1.00, 0.05≤c≤0.30 and 0.01≤d≤0.1) is produced by mixing a nickel-containing composite oxide containing cobalt and aluminum with a lithium source, or mixing oxides or hydroxides of cobalt and aluminum, nickel oxide with the lithium source, and firing the mixture under an oxygen atmosphere. In the production, a lithium compound whose carbonate radical content is over the amount of inevitable impurities and not over 0.3 mass% is used as the lithium source, the oxygen concentration of the atmosphere in the firing is regulated to ≥70 vol.%, and a firing temperature is set to 600-800°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
