PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, when using a digital still camera, a video camera or the like for self-imaging, a photographer is not sure of a composition of an object and a background including the photographer in a monitor of an LCD or the like, so that it is difficult to achieve the self-imaging with optimum field angle and composition and the imaging is likely to fail. SOLUTION: This information recording/reproducing device includes: an imaging means to photoelectrically convert an object image to output a picture signal; a face recognition means recognizing a face; a means to determine a positional relationship between a detected face position and an arbitrary position; a means to remove, when a desired composition is obtained, a background hidden by a person who has not been included in the desired composition captured in advance for determining the positional relationship so as to align a desired field angle captured in advance with the field angle for the self-imaging; and a display means to display the face position determination result. A desired composition for a field angle and the position of an object in the composition are determined in advance, thereby enabling self-imaging at the optimum field angle.
