<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a glass substrate for a magnetic disk which includes a polishing step capable of appropriately controlling an edge shape without deteriorating the quality of a principal surface. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the glass substrate for the magnetic disk, which includes the polishing step for polishing the glass substrate by using a polishing liquid including abrasive grains, the polishing is conducted by using the polishing liquid containing a nonionic surfactant added thereto so that the frictional coefficient of the solvent of the polishing liquid is equal to or more than that of water. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
