PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the ratio of the volume of a capacitive element in a solid electrolytic capacitor. SOLUTION: In a solid electrolytic capacitor, a positive electrode lead frame 3 and a negative electrode lead frame 4 have a positive electrode terminal surface 3a and a negative electrode terminal surface 4a, respectively, which are exposed from the lower surface of a sheathing resin 2. The negative electrode lead frame 4 includes its top surface in contact with a negative electrode layer 15 of a capacitive element 1. A positive electrode lead 12 of the capacitive element 1 extends to a position at which the front surface 2a of the sheathing resin 2 is located, with the leading end surface 12c thereof exposed on the front surface 2a of the sheathing resin 2. The positive electrode lead frame 3 has its front end face 3b exposed on the front surface 2a of the sheathing resin 2. On the front surface 2a of the sheathing resin 2, a conductive part 5 is formed to electrically connect the leading end surface 12c of the positive electrode lead 12 and the front end face 3b of the positive electrode lead frame 3.
