<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of displaying printed matter for creating a print profile considering spectral distribution of illumination in an observation illumination environment to reproduce visual performance of printed matter to a monitor, and to provide a device and a program for the display. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the method of displaying printed matter on the monitor, a spectrum reflectance ρ(λ) of a color patch 26 of a prescribed color of the printed matter 22 and the spectral distribution P(λ) of a plurality of pieces of illuminations are calculated to obtain an operation colorimetry value, the color of the color patch 26 disposed under an observation illumination environment is measured to obtain a measurement colorimetry value, and illumination, where the amount of error between the operation and measurement colorimetry values is minimized, is selected from the plurality of pieces of illuminations.
