<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electrically chargeable particulates which have high electrification performance and high durability and are stuck or fixed to surfaces of mother particles of particles for a display medium to be able to give good electrostatic chargeability to the particles for a display medium. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The electrically chargeable particulates 33 are stuck or fixed to surfaces of mother particles 32 of particles 31 for a display medium, which constitute a display medium for use in a panel for information display wherein the display medium is enclosed between two substrates facing each other, at least one of which is transparent, and the display medium is moved by application of an electric field to the display medium to display information such as an image and are obtained by forming particulates made of a resin having a carboxyl group and then making a functional group having an electrostatic chargeability to exist on the surfaces of the particulates by reaction between the carboxyl group and a compound having this functional group.
