<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll fluid machine capable of improving efficiency of the scroll fluid machine even in an insufficient compression state and suppressing deterioration in efficiency of a refrigerating cycle by reducing an oil rise amount. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This scroll fluid machine is equipped with an operation part formed by engaging a fixed scroll and a turning scroll having a spiral lap erected on each of respective end plates, and a vortex fluid diode disposed at a discharge port of the fixed scroll. As the vortex fluid diode is disposed at the discharge port of the fixed scroll, a reverse flow of high pressure gas from the discharge port to a compression chamber is sufficiently suppressed in a compression insufficient state in which an operating pressure ratio is larger than a set compression ratio and a power loss can be remarkably reduced, and as oil drops are developed by the vortex fluid diode before lubricating oil is discharged into a discharge space, oil separation in the discharge space is efficiently promoted, and the oil rise amount can be reduced.
