<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield machine preventing excavated soil from attaching to a rotary member like a center pipe or a supporting beam. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The shield machine 1 includes a cutter 3 excavating the natural ground, a partition wall 4 arranged behind the cutter 3, a cutter chamber 5 formed between the cutter 3 and the partition wall 4, rotary members 31, 32 extending from the cutter 3 to the partition wall 4 through the inside of the cutter chamber 5, and a fixed agitating rod 7 mounted on the partition wall 4 in a manner of projecting forward to agitate the excavated soil inside the cutter chamber 5. An agitating blade 10 extending in the radial direction toward each of the rotary members 31, 32 is mounted on the fixed agitating rod 7 to agitate the excavated soil around the rotary members 31, 32.
