The method involves monitoring movement characteristics of wheels, and identifying different movement conditions of the wheels. Centrifuges of a motor vehicle (2) e.g. car, are detected, if the wheels traverse a movement condition in which wheel acceleration values are smaller than a threshold value. The wheels are exchanged into another movement condition in which wheel rotating speed values are smaller than other threshold value. The wheels are exchanged into a third movement condition in which the acceleration values are larger than a third threshold value. An independent claim is also included for a control device comprising a unit for detecting centrifuge of a motor vehicle.
