<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to search the location of one's own car wherever the car is parked. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle search system (10) which finds the position of a vehicle (16) has a portable terminal device (14), and a communication device (12) installed in the vehicle (16). The portable terminal device (14) is equipped with a screen (74), and displays the current position of the portable terminal device (14) on a map (17) retrieving map information. The communication device (12) installed in the vehicle (16) sends the current position of the vehicle (16) to the portable terminal device (14).
