<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knee protection airbag apparatus capable of securing an installation space of a member to be installed near a steering column, and capable of suppressing deformation of a case at expansion of the airbag. <P>SOLUTION: The knee protection airbag apparatus M includes: an airbag 35; an inflator 40 which supplies expansion gas; a case 60 which stores and holds the airbag and the inflator, and has a mounting portion in the steering column 3, and is provided with a retainer 50 which mounts the airbag in the case by fastening a bolt 57 penetrating the airbag and a mounting seat 62 of the case by a nut 58. The mounting portion of the case is provided with a mounting bracket 86 which includes: a fastening piece 87 fixed in the case; a mounting piece 89 fixed on the steering column; and a coupling rod 88 for coupling the fastening piece and the mounting piece. The mounting bracket is mounted on the mounting seat of the case along with the airbag by fastening the fastening piece 87 together with the bolt 57L of the retainer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
