<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag apparatus capable of mounting an inflator in a case by appropriately regulating axial movement even when a retainer into which a tip end of the inflator is inserted has a structure for mounting the inflator in the case by leverage action. <P>SOLUTION: The airbag apparatus M mounted on a vehicle includes: an airbag 35; the inflator 40; the case 60; and the retainer 50 for mounting the airbag and the inflator in the case. When a bolt 57 of the retainer is fastened with a case mounting seat 62, the inflator 40 presses an outer peripheral rim 43b of a tip end 43 by a tip side pressing part 53 of the retainer while a foot side end surface 47a is abutted and supported on a fastening piece 72 of a supporting seat 64 so as to abut a mounting seat side part 45b in an outer peripheral surface 45a of the inflator on an outer periphery supporting part 66.
