PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system in which a remote operator can accurately and effectively obtain the execution of information maintenance processing in a terminal device. SOLUTION: A terminal device has: a communication part which can communicate with a center device through a communication line; and a storage controller 110 controlling writing and reading to/from a storage medium. The terminal device receives a control command transmitted from the center device, obtains processing information indicating information regarding the execution of maintenance processing to the storage medium when the control command received is a maintenance command, transmits the processing information obtained to the center device, executes maintenance processing to the storage medium when the received control command is the maintenance command, obtains the execution status of maintenance processing by a maintenance processing executing part when the control command received is an inquiry command, transmits the obtained execution status of maintenance processing to the center device, and signals the completion of execution of maintenance processing to the storage medium to the center device when the execution of maintenance processing by the maintenance processing executing part is completed.
