PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing terminal which detects various states while controlling the increase of component cost and device size. SOLUTION: An electronic device has a pair of housings engaged with each other and relatively movable, a magnetic sensor to detect a magnetic force provided in one of the housings, and a magnet to generate magnetic force provided in the other housing corresponding to the magnetic sensor. In addition, the electronic device has a state determination means for determining three or more types of states of the housings based on the strength of the magnetic force detected by the magnetic sensor.
