METHOD FOR PRODUCING ACRYLAMIDE

A method for producing acrylamide from acrylonitrile using a biological catalyst.  The method can produce acrylamide with high productivity on a commercial scale at low cost, while efficiently removing the reaction heat. Specifically disclosed is a method for producing acrylamide, wherein acrylonitrile is reacted in the presence of a biological catalyst.  The method is characterized in that the reaction is carried out using a reactor which is provided with a tubular heat exchanger and has a reaction capacity of not less than 1 m3, while maintaining the difference between the temperature of cooling water to be introduced into the heat exchanger and the reaction temperature to 5-20°C.
