Chroman-derived compounds having the general formula (I), wherein R1 and R2 are the same or different and denote an atom of hydrogen (H) or an alkyl group (C1-C8); R3 denotes an atom of H, a halogen, an aryl group or a -COOR5 group; wherein R5 is alkyl (C1-C4) or an alkylaryl; and R4 denotes an atom of hydrogen (H), an alkylaryl group or an alkyl group (C1-C8), linear or branched, together with the different uses thereof, more specifically in the identification of therapeutic compounds, as compounds regulating decoupling proteins or the therapeutic use thereof for the treatment of different diseases and ailments presenting an increase in the activity of said proteins.
