PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for detecting abnormality in a spindle device, the spindle device, and a machine tool in which a bearing can be prevented from being damaged by grasping occurrence of the abnormality in a lubrication condition of the bearing in real time. SOLUTION: In a spindle device body 21, input power supplied from a power supply part 22 to a motor 33 rotationally driving a spindle 31 rotatably supported by the bearings 32a, 32b is measured with a current measuring device 24 and a voltage measuring device 25. An input power value is displayed on a time series data display part 26a as time series data.
