HOMENETWORK SYSTEM, APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SAVING POWER OF GATEWAY

PURPOSE: A home network system, an apparatus and a method for saving power of a gateway are provided to reduce the power consumption of a gateway without disconnection of a physical layer by adopting a gateway power saving device. CONSTITUTION: A gateway(100) transmits and receives a data to and from each Ethernet device in a high speed mode, and a gateway power reduction unit(200) is installed between the Ethernet device and the gateway. The gateway power reduction unit transmits and receives data with each Ethernet device on behalf of the gateway in a low speed mode. Each mode is determined according to the data transfer rate with each Ethernet device in a physical layer.
