<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which is optically reliable by reducing the deformation of polarizing plates. <P>SOLUTION: The display device includes: a pair of substrates which hold liquid crystal between them and arranged opposite to each other; and the polarizing plates which are made to adhere onto the surfaces of the substrates at sides opposite from the liquid crystal. Each of the polarizing plates is arranged in the form of the lamination of at least an inner protective film, a polarizing film, and an outer protective film from the side of the substrate. The stretching axis of the outer protective film forms an angle of ≥30° and ≤90° with respect to the stretching axis of the polarizing film; and the stretching axis of the inner protective film forms an angle of ≥0° and ≤3° with respect to the stretching axis of the polarizing film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
