<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection-type image-displaying device which restrains a drop in contrast due to black floating when used in a dimly lit room or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The projection-type image-displaying device includes: a first lens array having a plurality of lens cell areas which divide radiated light from a light source into multiple pieces of luminous flux; a second lens array having a plurality of lens cell areas through which the multiple pieces of radiated luminous flux from the first lens array pass; a converging lens which converges the multiple pieces of luminous flux radiated from the second lens array; a display element; a projection lens; and a light-shielding unit which shields the luminous flux from the first lens array to the second lens array. The light-shielding unit shields at least some lens cell areas, except the lens cell areas contacting the optical axis, among all the rectangle lens cell areas of the second lens array. The light-shielded areas of the lens cell areas, which contact the optical axis, are each smaller than the light-shielded area of any of the lens cell areas except the lens cell areas which contact the optical axis. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
