PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaner that removes toner remaining on a surface of an image holder of an image forming apparatus, wherein an amount of toner remaining in a periphery of a cleaning blade does not become excessive. SOLUTION: A hollow 62 is formed in an outer peripheral edge portion of a spiral blade 56 of an auger screw for conveying toner. When toner dammed by a dam seal 60 becomes excessive and the dam seal deforms, a periphery of an end thereof comes into contact with the outer peripheral edge portion of the spiral blade 56 of the auger screw and the dam seal bends. When the hollow 62 comes to a position opposed to the dam seal as the auger screw 54 rotates, the dam seal falls in the hollow 62 to extend. As the auger screw rotates, the dam seal exits from the hollow to come into contact with an arcuate part of the outer peripheral edge portion of the spiral blade, which is repeated after that.
