PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform flow rate operation uninfluenced by a change of material characteristics, a cross sectional characteristic, and rigidity of a flow tube generated by erosion, corrosion and coating or the like of the flow tube caused by a material flowing through the flow tube during operation. SOLUTION: A system for calculating a flow rate in a flowmeter by using a plurality of vibration modes includes means for: calibrating the flowmeter relative to a desired vibration mode of a certain number; determining a density of the material flowing through the flowmeter, related to each vibration mode; determining an influence of the flow rate in each desired vibration mode, exerted on the density; and calculating the flow rate based on an influence of the density and the flow rate in each desired vibration mode, exerted on a density value.
