A MPU section (22) of a SignalBoard unit (1) calculates an angle of sight at each pixel position from relative position information on a user's viewpoint position with respect to a Display device (2), reads gamma characteristic information corresponding to the calculated angle of sight from a Memory section (231), calculates gamma compensation information at each pixel position such that in the viewpoint position, the input tone value becomes an output luminance value conforming to a reference gamma characteristic, and outputs the calculated gamma compensation information to an AngleComp section (132) of a GammaControl section (13). The AngleComp section (132) uses the gamma compensation information to output a corrected tone value corresponding to the input tone value and the pixel position to the Display device (2).
