The device has a fixed locking clamp (6) fixed with a base plate (1) and contacted with a tiltable locking hook (10) of a catch element (9). The catch element includes a supporting part (12) with a sliding surface (13), which faces a supporting surface (14) at an adjusting part (15) of a tiltable steering wheel (3). The steering wheel is adjusted by an adjusting cam (16). An operating rocker (2) is hinged at the base plate and the catch element. The locking hook is tiltable between a closing position, an intermediate position, a releasing position and a basic position.
