An independent claim is included for separating carboxylic acid components, comprising decomposing the carboxylic acid components into low-boiling components and high-boiling components in the distillation apparatus, supplying the high-boiling components to the crystallization device, and separating the high-boiling components in the crystallization device into crystals containing essentially saturated carboxylic acid components, and a mother liquor containing essentially unsaturated carboxylic acid components.
