A method and device for regenerative braking in a vehicle

The invention relates to a method and device for control of renegenerative braking in a vehicle (1) being provided with: a front axle (6) and a rear axle (7) being provided with front wheels (2, 3) and rear wheels (4, 5); an internal combustion engine (12); an electric motor (13); and a control unit (17) for controlling the operation of the electric motor (13) to selectively be operated either for propelling the rear axle (7) or for braking the rear axle (7) in a regenerative manner. The method comprises the steps of: estimating a value of the maximum level of braking force being applied to said rear axle (7); determining a degree of instability of said vehicle (1); and gradually shifting the braking force from said rear axle (7) to said front axle (6) depending of the degree of instability.
