PURPOSE: A method and a system for monitoring a location detector are provided to rapidly detect a location detector having a fault by automatically monitoring a fault of the location detector. CONSTITUTION: A location detector monitoring system(100) includes a location detector monitoring unit(110) and a defect decision unit(120), and collects state information of the location detector through the monitoring of a location detector(10). When a request for the state information is received, the location detector monitoring system transmits the state information. The defect decision unit performs the request and the reception of the state information, and judges the defect of the location detector through the state information.
