摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of rapidly and efficiently hydrogenating carbon oxide under a mild condition. SOLUTION: The carbon oxide is hydrogenated by allowing a hydrogen occluding alloy having a compound layer containing oxygen and fluorine on the surface to fring into contact with a gaseous mixture containing hydrogen and the carbon oxide. The carbon oxide is converted to the other compound by hydrogenating the carbon oxide. In the case that the gaseous mixture contains hydrogen and carbon monoxide, carbon monoxide is removed by the hydrogenation. Further in the case that the gaseous mixture contains hydrogen and carbon monoxide, a gaseous fuel is produced by hydrogenating carbon monoxide to remove. In the production of the gaseous fuel, hydrogen in the gaseous mixture is occluded in the hydrogen occluding alloy.
