Coating compositions comprise 10 to 15 weight per cent of a vinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer and 85 to 90 weight per cent of solvent selected from ketones, nitrocompounds, esters, chlorinated hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons. Many suitable solvents are specified including nitropropane, alkyl acetates, ethoxyethyl and butoxyethyl acetates, chlorethylenes, chlorobenzene, toluene, xylene, dialkyl ketones, isophorone, mesityl oxide, diacetone alcohol, cyclohexanone and tetrahydrofuran. The compositions may be used for coating vinyl resin surfaces to improve the adhesion thereto of printing inks. |
