<p>The device has a linear type contact image sensor (22) arranged along a direction perpendicular to a conveying direction of postal articles (10) in a module of a postage meter system. The sensor is fixed on a movable support. The support is displaced vertically under the action of driving levers (44, 48), and pivots around a longitudinal articulation axle (40C). A guiding pin (40F) integrates a fixed part (38) of the module for limiting vertical displacement of the support of the sensor and limiting the pivoting of the support around the axle.
