The present invention provides a sanitary ware comprising a substrate and a coating film formed on the surface of the substrate, wherein the coating film contains silicon (Si), zirconium (Zr), and oxygen (O) and the mass percentage of silicon oxide (SiO 2 ) is 50% by mass or less, based on the total amount of zirconium oxide (ZrO 2 ) and silicon oxide (SiO 2 ), as the zirconium (Zr) and the silicon (Si) are taken up in terms of zirconium oxide (ZrO 2 ) and silicon oxide (SiO 2 ), respectively.
