The invention is a process for obtaining cross-linked poly-alpha-olefins comprising either:
- step (a) wherein at least one alpha-olefin is polymerised in the presence of at least one single-site catalyst and at least one cross-linking agent having at least one functional group, comprising a polymerisable double bond, and at least one electrophilic functional group, or
- step (b) wherein at least one polyolefin prepared with a single-site catalyst is mixed with at least one cross-linking agent;
wherein said cross-linking agent has at least one polymerisable double bond and at least one electrophilic functional group. The invention also entails the polyolefin obtainable according to said process.
