PURPOSE: A method for encoding and decoding an image and a recording medium thereof are provided to slice an image with high resolution, map the sliced image on a slice group to encode and decode, form a single bit stream and perform efficient encoding and decoding. CONSTITUTION: A method for encoding an image comprises the following steps. A single image is sliced into a plurality of sliced images(S210). An expansion image which is a part of a sliced image adjacent to the sliced image is added to the image and sliced. The sliced image is mapped on a slice group(S220). Encoding is performed according to the slice group(S230). |
