In a cellular radiocommunication system comprising a core network able to support communications in circuit switching mode and communications in packet switching mode, as well as a radio access network connected to the core network, a condition for triggering the dispatching to a mobile station of an item of information is defined in relation to the mobile station in communication having an active radio link with a base station of the radio access network, the occurrence of such a condition is detected, and a message containing an item of information pertaining to the capabilities of the radio access network to support a communication in one or other of the aforesaid switching modes is dispatched by the radio access network to the mobile station. |
