The machining center (6) has separate machining aggregates (7) provided independent of each other. The machining aggregates are arranged at a machine frame in a replaceable manner for selective and specific machining of the machining center. One of the machining aggregates is provided for setting of a dowel into holes bored by the other machining aggregate and for gluing of the dowel in a light-weight building board (1) by supply of an adhesive. A pneumatic cylinder/piston unit is provided for operation of a plunger.
