<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus with which faults such as image quality deterioration and deterioration in the function of a developing part are efficiently hindered for a long time by removing residual toner that is a factor of the occurrence of unsatisfactorily electrified toner. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes the developing part 23 which consumes toner T by developing a latent image formed on an image carrier 21, and a toner supply part 32 which supplies the toner T with the developing part 23. An electric field having the optimum AC component is generated between the developing roller 23a and a roller member 70.
