The invention relates to a method for preparing a purified peptide deformylase, comprising contacting a liquid which comprises a peptide deformylase containing an ionic tag and at least one other enzyme with an ion exchange material to which material the ionic tag binds by ionic interaction and separating the other enzyme from said peptide deformylase. The invention further provides a peptide deformylase comprising an ionic tag, a vector comprising a nucleic acid sequence encoding such a peptide deformylase and a cell comprising such a vector. |
