PURPOSE: A flame arrester for a solid fuel combustor is provided to automatically open and closing a blocking plate without an electric damper by attaching the top end of the blocking palate using a hinge. CONSTITUTION: A flame arrester for a solid fuel combustor comprises a fuel inlet(22) and a blocking plate(23). The fuel inlet is formed in a combustion chamber(10), and penetrated through a center flow passage(12). And the fuel inlet is inclined downward. The outer diameter of the blocking plate is slightly bigger than the inner diameter of a fuel outlet. The top end of the blocking plate is attached on the top of the fuel outlet by a hinge(24), and the blocking plate is automatically opened and closed.
