An apparatus for producing consumable cubes of ice has at least one immersion element (46), which is provided with a conductive ice-adhesion surface (46a), and a refrigerator (34). The immersion element (46) is suitable for immersion, by way of its ice-adhesion surface (46a), in a consumable liquid (58). The refrigerator (34) is connected structurally to the immersion element (46) and has a predetermined heat-transporting device for cooling down at least the ice-adhesion surface (46a) to a freezing temperature of the liquid (58) such that, with the immersion element (46) in an immersed state, that liquid (58) which is in relatively close proximity to the ice-adhesion surface (46a) can be frozen and a cube of ice can be formed from some of the liquid (58) on the ice-adhesion surface (46a). |
